The Big Beautiful Bill is an embodiment of the assumption that the rich deserve the best—ideally, to live forever; and the poor deserve nothing, to die, even. As this plays out and the poor die at an accelerating rate, they will need to be replaced faster. Since we can no longer import poor people (ICE will be a force larger than most countries’ armies), we need to reproduce them faster. Since they will die in infancy at a medieval rate (since we no longer believe in vaccinations), we will need for women to become life-long baby factories. One glitch in the system will be that more women will die in childbirth (since the regional hospitals will close as they lose their Medicare payments for services). Maybe there will be subsidies for obstetric care, even though that would violate basic principles, as losing too many baby factories would hurt the system.
Everyone who made this assumption and voted for this bill should lose their jobs as soon as we can vote them out.
