Just wanted to tell you a cool thing that happened. Ed McNees — songwriter Dan Penn’s unofficial manager – just called me to tell me that he got a call from a man in Denver, Colorado who wanted a ticket for the upcoming Aug. 2 Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham concert in Vernon. When asked how the Denver man heard about the concert, the guy told Ed that he had long been a fan of Dan and Spooner and wanted to see them perform. He did a Google search of upcoming concerts and The Dispatch article came up. So he’s flying down to attend! Global coverage! Thanks again for publishing it in the weekend paper.
