COLUMBUS — James Edward Hicks, 66, died Jan. 5, 2015, at Rush Hospital in Meridian. Services are 1 p.m. Sunday at Tenth Avenue Church of Christ with Willie McCord officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from 2-6 p.m. at Century Hairston Funeral Home of Columbus. Mr. Hicks was born on Oct. 10, 1948, to the late J. D. and Dora Lee Hicks. He was formerly employed as a custodian with the Columbus Air Force Base. He is survived by one son, Jammine Ussery of Waynesboro; daughter, Kahla Hicks of Anderson, Indiana; sisters, Martha Gholar and Patricia Hicks, both of Gulfport, Brenda Hicks of Morton, Patricia Howell, Pearlin Howell, Sara Hicks, Johnnie Ruth McBride and Juanite Hicks, all of Columbus; and brothers, Roy Hicks and Clifton Miles, both of Columbus and Jerry Miles of Gulfport.
