Dock Coleman

CRAWFORD — Dock “Dike” Coleman, 77, died Jan. 11, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital—Golden Triangle.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at oak Grove M.B. Church in Columbus, with the Rev. Therman Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. today, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Coleman was born Feb. 6, 1945, in Columbus, to the late Eddie Coleman and Edith Coleman. He was formerly employed with Lowndes County Maintenance Shop and Lowndes County School District. He was a member of Oak Grove M.B. Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Annie Jane Mosby and Ellen Mae Mcnair; brothers, John Coleman, Charles Coleman, Willie Coleman, Emmitt Coleman, George Coleman, Wiley Coleman, Ned Coleman, Raymond Coleman and Tommie Lee Coleman; one grandchild; and one step-grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Hattie Dell Coleman; children, Dock Selvie, Kevin Selvie, both of Mobile, Alabama, Frederick Selvie of Columbus, charlotte Selvie of Crawford and Kim Johnson of Kankakee, Illinois; step-children, Howard Dickerson of Columbus, Angela Jackson and Tracy Bevill, both of Crawford; brother, Robert Coleman of Indianapolis, Indiana; 11 grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Turner, Tony Webber, Larry Webber, Bobby Webber, Tommy Fenton and Charlie Turner.
