STEENS — Bertha Lee Gibson, 83, died Oct. 24, 2024, at her residence.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, at New Zion M.B. Church, with the Rev. Barnell Tate officiating. Burial will follow at Stallion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Gibson was born Jan. 13, 1941, to the late Andrew Gibson and Rosie Bell Henry Gibson. She was a graduate of R.E. Hunt High School, Philander Smith University and Jackson State University. She was formerly employed as a teacher with Columbus Municipal School District. She was a member of New Zion Steens M.B. Church.
She is survived by her siblings, Tommie Lee Gibson and Annie G. Richardson, both of Columbus.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Davis, Jimmy Bonner, Nicklous Tate, Larry Bouldes, Jessie Tate and Chris Young.
