A 41-year-old woman has been charged in Lowndes County with taking pornographic photographs of her two young sons.
Angela Marie Shoemake, of 276 Wells Drive in Caledonia, was arrested Aug. 16 after her boyfriend found photographs of her 8- and 6-year-old boys on her computer, said Lowndes County Sheriff”s Office Detective Tony Cooper.
Investigators examined the computer and found that Shoemake was planning to send the pictures to a man she met online, Cooper said. Federal officers tracked the man to another state but have not arrested him yet.
Meanwhile, investigators are still examining Shoemake”s computer to find whether she sent any of the images, Cooper said.
If they find she did send photographs, she could be charged with distribution of pornography, in addition to two counts of child exploitation.
The Department of Human Services questioned the boys and determined they were not sexually molested, Cooper said. They were then transferred to family members.
Shoemake was released from the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center on a $70,000 bond Aug. 18.
