A West Point man is dead following a Friday morning crash at Highway 12 and Spring Street.
Vincent O. Tubbs, 44, of 1972 Bayless Drive, was heading east on Highway 12, just east of the Spring Street intersection, when he struck the left rear bumper of a black 2004 Dodge Ram driven by Samuel C. Jenkins, 22, of Benton, who was stopped at a red light.
The crash pushed Jenkins” vehicle off the roadway while Tubbs continued another 200 yards, through the Spring Street intersection, before he came to final rest in a ditch, according to a Starkville Police Department accident report.
Jenkins was not injured, officials said.
