This weekend has a variety of events to choose from including a performance of the musical “Bright Star,” the Seventh Avenue Heritage Festival and Oktoberfest! There is sure to be something for everyone.

The Starkville Community Theatre is putting on performances of the musical “Bright Star.” Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the SCT Box Office at (662) 323-6855.

As a part of the Seventh Avenue Heritage Festival, there will be a ‘90s Block Party and fish fry starting at 4:30 p.m. on the corner of Seventh Avenue and 15th Street North.

Starkville
Starkville DIY is coordinating an album release show for Hartle Road’s new album, “Maxx II” in the Starkville Area Arts Council’s Main Street lobby. Other bands featured will include Bored to Tears and It’s Only Us. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with musical performances to follow at 7 p.m.

Columbus
Munson and Brothers is hosting its fourth annual Oktoberfest from 5-10 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday. The event will kick off with a keg tap and prost (toast) with Mayor Keith Gaskin on Friday. The weekend will also be filled with musical performances, pretzels, brats, beers, a 5K run and a beer/donut mile.
Heritage Festival Parade and Performances

Columbus
On the last day of the Seventh Avenue Heritage Festival, there will be a parade starting at the Columbus Police Department, 1501 Main St., and musical performances for a Gospel, Blues and R&B celebration. There will also be performances by Webbie and Big Boogie.

Columbus
The Burns Bottom Arts Festival will be returning to 301 Second Ave. N., in conjunction with Oktoberfest at Munson and Brothers. Arts vendors will be selling handmade products during the event.
