Hitching Lot Farmers’ Market Grand Opening

The Hitching Lot Farmers’ Market will be opening for the season from 7 to 10 a.m. at the Roger Short Soccer Complex. Starting May 13, the market will be open Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 to 10 a.m.

Backstage Music will be hosting its inaugural Spring Fever Fest, including live music, a swap meet and a food truck from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Drew Dieckmann will emcee live music provided by local artists Brother Drew, Caitlin Rose, Jason Blake, Andrew Brister, Clay Herring and Meanderlost. Bring your own lawn chair.

Mississippi Author Aimee Nezhukumatathil will be coming to the Lowndes County Courthouse Lawn with her book “Bite by Bite.” There will be free snow cones during the event and a student book giveaway for high school and college students courtesy of the Friendly City Books Community Connection, a special project of the CREATE Foundation.
