STARKVILLE — Police have arrested a teen in connection with a weekend shooting at a Louisville Street mobile home park.
Charcell Gray, 17, is charged with aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied swelling, according to a Starkville Police Department press release issued Tuesday afternoon.
Officers responded to the Pines Manufactured Home Community, 1000 Louisville St., at 1:30 a.m. Saturday to reports someone had suffered a gunshot wound. The male victim was taken to OCH Regional Medical Center and treated for his injuries.
Police Chief Mark Ballard told The Dispatch on Saturday the shooting appeared to be related to a group gathered outside the victim’s home. The victim, he said, was not related to or involved with the group’s activity.
