- Instead of the usual afternoon paper, The Starkville Dispatch will put out a morning edition on Labor Day.
- Dispatch offices will be closed Monday for the holiday, but any delivery problems may be reported to the circulation department in Columbus from 6-10 a.m.
- The city of Starkville”s Sanitation Department will be closed Monday and resume regular pickup on Tuesday. The regular Monday schedule will be picked up on Thursday.
- Area banks, including BancorpSouth, Cadence, CB&S, Citizens, M&F and Regions, also will be closed Monday.
- Starkville and Oktibbeha County school district offices and the Starkville Public Library will be shut down for the day, along with the Greater Starkville Development Partnership.
- All county and city government offices, including U.S. Postal Services offices, will also be closed. The Starkville Sportsplex building will be closed, as well.
- Both the Starkville Electric Department and 4-County Electric Power Association offices will be closed for the holiday.
- Starkville Recycling also will be closed.
