The Starkville Police Department is investigating two recent break-ins at the Brickfire Project Center’s Westside Drive location.
Burglars have entered the non-profit center twice since Feb. 16, a SPD release states, and are tied to a series of burglaries that have recently occurred.
The Brickfire Project provides child care, after-school programs, skills training and other services.
Commercial burglary arrests
The SPD also arrested two people Monday in connection to a mid-February break-in.
Ashley Rivers Tuck, 18, of Starkville was charged with commercial burglary. She was processed and released on a $5,000 bond.
A female juvenile was also arrested. SPD routinely does not report the names of juveniles charged with serious crimes, and the department did not report the youth’s age.
The youth was transported to the Lowndes County Juvenile Detention Center.
SPD released no further details on the arrests or the incident.
