The Dispatch welcomes two new staffers to the newsroom this week.
Carmen Sisson has joined the newsroom as a reporter. Sisson has 15 years experience as a reporter and editor. She has spent the bulk of that time as a freelance magazine and newspaper reporter, writing for national publications including The Christian Science Monitor and Time. She most recently was a contributing writer for The Dispatch”s new regional magazine, Catfish Alley.
Sisson will continue to write for Catfish Alley, and also cover education and other areas for The Dispatch.
Gary Estwick has joined The Dispatch as a copy editor and writer in the Sports department. Estwick has 10 years experience as a sports reporter, writing for the Nashville Tennessean, the Fresno Bee, the Akron Beacon Journal, the Miami Herald and other publications.
Estwick will handle sports copy editing and layout, and write stories for the Sports section. He will also be instrumental in editing and updating The Dispatch”s website.
