COLUMBUS –Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal wreck between two tractor-trailers on Highway 82 West late Wednesday night.
MHP spokesperson Sgt. Derrick Beckom confirmed the two tractor-trailers collided near the exit to Airport Road at about 11:30 p.m. Beckom also confirmed one fatality from the wreck.
Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant identified the victim as Isaiah Lee of Charleston, who works for Florida-based Coast to Coast Trucking. Merchant said it appears the truck Lee was driving struck the other vehicle in the rear. Lee was ejected from his seat.
The other driver was unhurt, Merchant said.
Beckom could not identify which company the other driver worked for by press time.
