STARKVILLE – A Columbus man was arrested Monday by the Starkville Police Department following a coordinated multi-state law enforcement agency effort.
Deshun Williams, 33, was charged with six felony counts of credit card fraud, two felony counts of false pretenses and one count of misdemeanor credit card fraud on Monday, according to a Starkville Police Department press release.
The charges stem from an ongoing investigation into fraudulent transactions Williams allegedly made dating back to March. Eight businesses in the Starkville area were affected, the press release said.
Williams also faces related charges in Oxford, Horn Lake, Clay County, and Pickens County, Alabama. He also awaits charges from Tennessee law enforcement.
The arrest was a coordinated effort among law enforcement agencies from impacted areas, the release said.
The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges are expected, the release said.
