STARKVILLE — A Morton man was arrested Tuesday night after brandishing a gun at patrons of Southern Billiards.
David Ramirez, 34, was charged Wednesday with possession of a weapon by a felon, four counts of simple assault by threats, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, disturbance of a business and disorderly conduct, a Wednesday Starkville Police Department press release said.
The weapons possession charge is a felony. The rest are misdemeanors.
The incident happened on Tuesday at 11:13 p.m., the release said, as Ramirez was being removed from Southern Billiards following an altercation. Ramirez brandished the weapon before fleeing on foot. Officers later located and arrested on Lafayette Street.
No one was injured.
Ramirez was taken to the Oktibbeha County Jail, the release said.
Bond had not been set yet as of press time Wednesday, SPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Brandon Lovelady told The Dispatch in a text message.
