STARKVILLE — A Starkville man was arrested Tuesday after fleeing a traffic stop and engaging in a car chase with the Starkville Police Department.
David Locke, 53, failed to comply with a traffic stop made at 12:21 a.m. by SPD officers and fled in his car until being stopped at the 2300 block of Old West Point Road, an SPD press release said.
The stop allegedly occurred because Locke didn’t maintain his lane and had no tag lights, SPD Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady told The Dispatch.
No property damage was sustained and no one was injured in the arrest, Lovelady said.
Locke has been charged with one felony count of failure to stop when an officer signals, along with charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, possession of paraphernalia and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, the press release said.
Locke is currently being held at Oktibbeha County Jail and his bond has not yet been set, Lovelady said.
