No one was injured in a car crash involving a Mississippi Highway Patrolman on Highway 69 in east Columbus Wednesday.
Trooper Stanley Mitchell was driving southbound on Highway 69 when his vehicle hit the back of an SUV driving in front of him. Sgt. Derrick Beckom, with MHP public affairs, said no criminal charges will be filed as a result of the accident and MHP will not investigate, he said.
“It was such a minor crash,” he said. “There’s nothing criminal, no charges. Just your normal accident. The insurance will look into it and decide who’s at fault and we’ll go from there.”
