Two suspects were arrested following a Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office drug bust in September that yielded guns, cocaine, cash and other drugs.
LCSO’s Narcotics STING Unit executed a search warrant Sept. 27 at 202 Pandora Drive. A sheriff’s office press release issued Wednesday said the unit had been investigating the home for drug distribution for several weeks.
During the search, agents found an ounce of cocaine, dosage units of MDMA (ecstasy) and prescription hydrocodone that was being sold from the home. Agents also seized drug paraphernalia, $3,000 in cash, two semi-automatic handguns and one revolver. Two juvenile children were living at the residence, the press release said.
Cortney Petty, 34, of Columbus, was arrested and charged with two counts of child endangerment, sale of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone), possession of MDMA and three counts of possession of a weapon by a previously convicted felon.
Petty is being held at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center with a total bond of $325,000.
Following the initial arrest, agents developed evidence that Shaina Thomas, 30, another resident of 202 Pandora Drive, was also allegedly involved in the drug distribution. She was arrested and charged with two counts of child endangerment, conspiracy to commit a crime (drug distribution) and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.
Thomas remains at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center with a total bond of $150,000.
