CLAY COUNTY – At least five people were injured in a shooting Saturday night in Clay County, Chief Deputy Steven “Woody” Woodruff told The Dispatch.
The shooting took place at about midnight during a bonfire event on the west side of the county. Woodruff said three victims were taken to North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point, another was taken to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo and one was transferred to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. No fatalities occurred.
The incident remains under investigation, and more information will be provided as it continues, Woodruff said.
