COLUMBUS – FORGE Golden Triangle Chapter proudly hosted a Career Signing Ceremony on Thursday at East Mississippi Community College’s Golden Triangle Campus, recognizing students from the construction engineering technology program as they took the next step toward their futures.
During the ceremony, students signed letters of intent, formally committing to either enter the workforce with industry partners or continue their education in high-demand career pathways.
The letters affirmed students’ commitment to the construction industry and its core values, including integrity, safety, hard work, lifelong learning and professional pride – recognizing the vital role they will play as the next generation of skilled professionals.
Students participating in the ceremony are pursuing opportunities with local and regional industry partners, including West Brothers Construction, McCrary West Construction, Byrum Construction, Ox Bodies, T&M Steel Erectors, Falcon Contracting and Buckner Tire.
Family members, instructors and industry partners gathered to celebrate the students’ hard work and dedication.
Modeled after traditional signing days, the event highlighted the value of careers in construction and skilled trades while providing students with a meaningful opportunity to publicly recognize their next steps.
“This moment represents more than a signature. It represents a commitment to building Mississippi’s future workforce,” said FORGE Executive Director Melinda Lowe. “These students are stepping into careers that matter, and we are proud to stand alongside them as they take that next step.”
The event underscores the strong connection between education and industry, reinforcing the importance of workforce development partnerships in strengthening Mississippi’s future workforce.
