Investigators with Columbus Police Department are searching for a suspect or suspects in two Wednesday night shootings that may be related.
Officers first responded at about 6:30 p.m. to the 400 block of Forrest Boulevard where it was reported someone had been firing shots into an apartment building, according to a Columbus Police Department press release. No one was injured, and police did not immediately have a suspect in custody.
Less than an hour later, there was another shooting outside a Waterworks Road residence, the press release said. The victim was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle with non life-threatening injuries.
At the time, CPD Chief Fred Shelton said it was unclear if the shootings were related and asked for anyone with information on either shooting to contact investigators.
“These incidents occurred within an hour of each other,” he said in the release. “It is still early in the investigation, but we don’t believe the incidents are random. We are also investigating if both are related incidents.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 800-530-7151.
