STARKVILLE – Bank of Commerce recently announced two additions to its Starkville Branch.
Johnny Ray, of Starkville, has been appointed as executive vice president and chief banking officer, bringing nearly four decades of banking experience to the role.
Ray has held senior roles at Trustmark, BancorpSouth, BankPlus and most recently, served as executive vice president and Jackson regional president at BankFirst Financial Services.
In his new role, Ray will lead the bank’s commercial and retail banking operations, with a focus on relationship growth, community outreach and strategic development.
Ray, who lives in Starkville with his wife Dyanne and three children, serves on boards of several organizations, including Habitat for Humanity Mississippi Capital Area, the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame, Mission First and Rotary Club of Jackson.
“It’s a privilege to join a team so deeply invested in the people and businesses of our state,” Ray said in a press release. “I look forward to building on the bank’s strong foundation and helping even more Mississippians succeed.”
Marcus Wood Jr. has joined the Starkville Branch as relationship manager. He brings with him a background in customer service and financial planning, having served as a consumer relationship officer at Renasant Bank and as a financial planning assistant at Ameriprise Financial Services. He has also held roles with Mississippi Farm Bureau Insurance and the Golden Triangle Development District.
In his new role, Wood will focus on building client relationships and helping individuals and businesses navigate financial decisions with confidence.
