COLUMBUS – John Gibbons Jr., who served as president and CEO from 1987 to 2024, was recently inducted into the Triangle Federal Credit Union Hall of Fame during the credit union’s 66th annual meeting last month.
Under Gibbons’ leadership, Triangle FCU expanded from $10 million to more than $110 million in assets and grew from one location to five branches across the Golden Triangle. He also championed important technological advancements that strengthened operations and elevated the member experience.
The annual meeting also honored outstanding employees for their contributions throughout 2025.
Elizabeth Varvel received the Accuracy Champion Award for maintaining a perfect balancing record all year. Nisha Hoskins earned the Transaction Champion Award. Community Champion Awards were presented to Cindy Adair, Tia Marshall, Maria Snell, Destinee Thomas and Shea Watson for their meaningful efforts supporting members and the wider community.
Culture Champions included Hailey Bohon, Brooke Hagood, Natalie Leigh, Rachel McMurry and Victoria Suber. Valarie Williams received the Member Advocate Award after being nominated by members for her exceptional service, and Sarah Beth Brown was honored with the TRY‑Angle Award for consistently demonstrating teamwork, reliability and a willingness to step in wherever needed.
