Both Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle and OCH Regional Medical Center have earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group for fall 2023.
BMH-GT received this rating for the 24th consecutive time since 2012, making it the only hospital in Mississippi to have achieved straight A’s for 12 years, according to a BMH-GT press release.
OCH went back up to an A after receiving a B rating on the last safety grade — missing the A grade by only a narrow margin — Director of Marketing and Public Relations Audra Gines told The Dispatch in a text message.
The Leapfrog Group is a national nonprofit focused on standards for patient safety.
Twice a year, in the fall and the spring, the group assigns safety grades to hospitals based on the prevention of medical errors, accidents, infections and injuries. The grading system is peer-reviewed and free to the public.
Among the 40 hospitals graded in the state of Mississippi by The Leapfrog Group, only eight received an A grade.
