A Columbus man has been arrested in connection with last weekend’s shooting at Yo’ Bar, according to Columbus Police Department Capt. Rick Jones.
Larry Hudgins, 28, was arrested about 1 p.m. Thursday and charged with aggravated assault, as well as felon in possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance, Jones said.
Jones said the shooting erupted after an argument in the parking lot outside the nightclub, located at 3500 Bluecutt Road. More than 60 shots were fired, and three wounded, one critically. There were “multiple” shooters.
Hudgins was one of the people who was injured in the shooting, Jones said. He went to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle with non-life-threatening injuries, where he was treated and released.
He was then booked at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center with bond set at $50,000.
Jones said he thinks the weapon recovered was one used in the shooting, but it must be sent off for testing to confirm that.
The owners of the Yo’ Bar have been very cooperative and greatly aided the investigation, Jones added.
“They’ve provided us with surveillance video, and that’s been instrumental in seeing what happened,” he said.
Jones said he anticipates more arrests as the investigation continues.
CPD asks anyone with information on this case to call Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at (800) 530-7151 or use the P3 Tips smartphone app. Tips are anonymous, and there is a cash reward if they result in an arrest.
