Three people were wounded, one critically, after at least 60 shots were fired in the parking lot of the Yo’ Bar this morning, according to Columbus Public Information Officer Joe Dillon.
The incident happened about 12:40 a.m. in the parking lot at the popular nightspot, located at 3500 Bluecutt Road, Dillon said. The bar had closed and people were congregating in the parking lot.
“There was an altercation involving several individuals, and several different people pulled guns and started shooting,” Dillon said.
Three people were wounded and taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, Dillon said. One of those was critically wounded and airlifted to Jackson for surgery.
Columbus Police Department believes the other two victims did not suffer life-threatening injuries, Dillon said.
Right now it’s not clear if the wounded were involved in the shootout or were bystanders, Dillon said. No one has been arrested.
“We don’t know yet if they were part of the altercation,” Dillon said. “It’s too early in the investigation.”
It wasn’t clear if the shooters had been in the bar or were just hanging out in the parking lot, Dillon said.
“It was a very chaotic scene, and investigators are trying to sort out what happened,” Dillon said.
CPD asks anyone with information on this case to call Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at (800) 530-7151 or use the P3 Tips smartphone app. Tips are anonymous, and there is a cash reward if they result in an arrest.
