STARKVILLE — Police have arrested four suspects in a Sunday night shooting outside the Sprint Mart at Highway 182 and Old Mayhew Road.
Austin Hudson, 21, faces four counts of aggravated assault, according to a Starkville Police Department press release issued Tuesday. On Monday, police charged Coby Jones, 17, with three counts of aggravated assault. Both Jade Stallings, 22, and Aja Sherrod, 23, are charged with accessory after the fact.
All four arrested suspects are from Starkville.
Officers responded at about 9:48 p.m. to the shooting, which police are calling a “targeted attack” among parties who knew one another. It involved Glock pistols modified for automatic firing.
SPD has not released the number of shooters officers believe to be involved or the number of shots fired. The shooting is still being investigated.
Two minor injuries were reported, including a woman associated with the shooting parties was grazed by a bullet and a bystander struck by a bullet ricochet. Police said the only apparent property damage at the store was to an exterior ice machine.
