Baptist Memorial Hospital—Golden Triangle welcomes new interventional radiologist Dr. Timothy Usey to its medical staff. He is in practice at BMG Golden Triangle Radiology, 2520 Fifth St. North.
Originally from Gulfport, Dr. Usey earned a bachelor’s degree summa cum laude in biological engineering from Mississippi State University in 1990. He is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, and completed his residency in diagnostic radiology where he was chief resident from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1999.
He comes to Columbus from Jackson, where he was a staff radiologist at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Usey is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and vascular and interventional radiology. He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, the Mississippi State Medical Association and the Mississippi Radiological Society.
“We are excited to have Dr. Usey join our medical staff and our team of radiologists. His experience will help us expand services to patients in the area of interventional radiology just as we are expanding the special procedures area of our Radiology Department,” said Baptist Golden Triangle Administrator Paul Cade.
The $1.6 million project includes a new special procedures lab, which is already in service, and five additional patient holding rooms, which are currently under construction. The project is expected to be completed in the spring of 2022.
