A man was found dead in his car in Columbus from an apparent gunshot wound early Monday morning.
Columbus police found the victim, Shad Reese, 23, of Macon at 2:40 a.m. in the front seat of a vehicle on 10th Avenue North near Union Academy, a police department press release said. Police Chief Fred Shelton said investigators found one shell casing.
While CPD continues investigating, the body has been sent for autopsy to determine cause of death.
Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant said the incident does not appear to be self-inflicted.
