A late afternoon argument led to a fatal shooting Sunday in Columbus.
Columbus police responded to a call at the 2500 block of 22nd Avenue North shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday where they found Deandrian Dominique Buckhalter, 28, suffering from a gunshot wound. Buckhalter was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle and died there, according to Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant.
Terry Macon, 47, of Columbus was arrested and charged with murder, according to CPD Chief Fred Shelton. The firearm believed to have been used in the shooting has been recovered, Shelton said.
Shelton said Macon is the stepfather of Buckhalter’s girlfriend and that the argument involved that relationship.
