A man was shot in the leg by his barber Wednesday afternoon.
Around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, authorities received a 911 call for a gunshot victim at Dream Team Barber and Style Shop on the corner of 13th Street North and Second Avenue North.
When law enforcement arrived they discovered a victim still inside the barbershop, bleeding from the leg. The shooter had fled the scene. Latasha Key, a spokesperson with the Columbus Police Department, declined to identified a suspect. Key said a suspect is in custody.
Law enforcement on scene did not identify the shooter but said he turned himself in shortly after the shooting. A man who identified himself as the owner of the barber shop, who declined to give his name, confirmed that the suspect was one of his employees. He had worked at the shop for approximately two months, the owner said.
The victim, who Key did not identify, was transported from the scene in an ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. His condition is unknown.
