One person was injured and another was arrested following a Monday shooting at the Academy Road Sprint Mart.
Charles J. Phillips, 28, of Starkville, will appear in municipal court today after he was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a felon.
Starkville police officers responded to the gas station near Starkville Academy about 3:45 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired. Starkville Police Department Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady said the victim was treated locally and released but did not disclose how many times he or she was shot.
Lovelady said Phillips was arrested about 30 to 45 minutes after the incident but did not release where the arrest took place.
SPD also did not report how many shots Phillips allegedly fired or what caused the altercation.
