On this Christian journey, we will experience seasons of spiritual dryness and emptiness in our lives. However, God assures us He will refill us again; all we have to do is ask Him to do it for us. “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:13)
We all have moments when we feel hungry, not just for food but for a deeper relationship with God. In times like these, God will refill our souls again with His goodness. Just as our bodies crave nourishment, our spirits crave the presence and goodness of God. He not only recognizes this hunger but fills it with good things that genuinely nourish our souls. “For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.” (Psalm 107:9)
Sometimes we make one bad decision after another. When this happens to us, God will refill us again with His wisdom. Then we can make wise decisions that honor God and benefit those around us. “And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship.” (Exodus 31:3)
Do you ever feel like your spiritual connection with God isn’t what it used to be? Maybe at one time you were on fire for God, but now it feels like the flame has dimmed, and you wonder, will God ever use you again? If so, God will refill you again with His anointing, and you will feel empowered by God. “But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.” (1 John 2:20)
Some circumstances we go through can be extremely intense, to the point they will strip away all our happiness. In moments such as these, God will refill us again with His joy. Once we get our joy back, we can rejoice in the Lord in our good times and our bad times. “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” (Romans 15:13)
There are days when we feel like we’re emotionally drained, spiritually weary and physically exhausted from work, family demands or spiritual battles. During times like these, God will refill us again with His strength. “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)
So be encouraged today and always remember: God will refill everyone who hungers and thirsts for Him. “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6)
