Golden Triangle businesses and nonprofits have decorated trees that are currently on display at the Columbus-Lowndes Public Library.
The library is inviting visitors to vote for their favorite tree now through noon Thursday. An open house for the festival will be held 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the library, located at 314 Seventh St. N., Columbus.
Meet Santa and Miz Claus and enjoy choral performances from Columbus Christian School and Columbus Choral Society. Crafts for children are included in this free event.
A few of the tree decorators are the Columbus-Lowdnes Humane Society, Beta Sigma Phi, Mississippi State/Lowndes County Master Gardeners, Shaw Pit Bull Rescue, Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, Porkchop’s Phat Farm (a pot belly pig rescue group), Columbus Air Force Base’s Spouses Club, Rowdy Foundation and 4-H clubs.
The library has held the Festival of Trees since 2009.
