■ Veterans Day: The American Legion will hold a wreath laying ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Lowndes County Courthouse.
■ Celebrating Our Veterans: KMG Productions is hosting a special event to honor veterans at the Travis Outlaw Center at the Starkville Sportsplex. ■ Under the Oaks: The Columbus Arts Council and The W are co-hosting this Burns Bottom arts festival celebrating artists of all kinds. The event, free and open to the public, will take place at the MUW campus from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition to artisan vendors, the festival will feature food and live music.

Monday, Nov. 11
■ West Point Veterans Program: There will be a Veterans Day Program at 11 a.m. upstairs in City Hall. The program will honor veterans generally, along with the city’s Veterans of the Year, Staff Sgt. Sheryl Woolbright and Staff Sgt. Ontario M. Perry.
■ Caledonia Veterans Day Parade: Caledonia will host a parade with line up starting at 10 a.m. and the parade beginning at 11 a.m. The parade will go through the school, Main Street, Wolfe Road and end back at the park. A program will immediately follow the parade at the veterans memorial.
■ DAR Memorial Service: The Bernard Romans Chapter of the Mississippi State Society Daughters of the American Revolution will host a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Friendship Cemetery honoring Revolutionary War veteran William Cocke, who is buried there.

■ Community Event Series: The Oktibbeha County Heritage Museum is hosting a talk as a part of its community event series featuring speaker Mark Lehman. Lehman will be discussing miniature trains at the museum beginning at 10:30 a.m.

■ With Thanksgiving: The Starkville-MSU Symphony and the Starkville Community Chorus perform together in a concert anticipating the Thanksgiving holiday featuring works such as Copland’s The Promise of Living, Rutter’s For the Beauty of the Earth and Willberg’s arrangement of Simple Gifts. The concert begins at 2 p.m. at Bettersworth Auditorium.

■ Starkville Christmas Parade: The Starkville Main Street Association will host its annual Christmas Parade starting at 6 p.m. on Main Street. This year’s Grand Marshal is former Major League Baseball pitcher Roy Oswalt. The theme is “Christmas Royale.”
Tuesday, Dec. 3
■ Columbus Christmas Parade: The Main Street Columbus Christmas Parade will once again be rolling through the city at 7 p.m. This year’s grand marshal is music educator Dawn Barham. The theme is “A Merry Musical Christmas.”
Thursday, Dec. 5
■ Holiday Market: Caledonia will be having a holiday market from 5-8 p.m. at Ola J. Pickett Park, followed by a Christmas tree lighting at 8:30 p.m.

■ A Christmas Carol: Golden Triangle Theatre will present a production of “A Christmas Carol” at MUW’s Cromwell Theatre. Performances begin Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2:30 and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children and can be purchased at goldentriangletheatre.com.

■ Wassailfest: Get into the holiday spirit with the 20th Anniversary of Wassailfest in downtown Columbus. Participating businesses will be open after hours, offering wassail and other holiday treats from 5 to 8 p.m. There will also be a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 p.m.
■ Artists Against Trafficking: Country Outdoors is presenting an evening of music and conversation to support victims of human trafficking in Mississippi. The evening will be from 6-9 p.m. at the Ritz in West Point. It will be hosted by Mary O’Neill Phillips and will include acoustic performances by Mo Pitney, Paxton Peay and Conner Sweeny.
