Counselor Ellen Taylor of Knoxville, Tennessee, has whipped cream dumped on her face by camper Olivia Mellen, 9, of Germantown, Tennessee, Thursday after the camp scavenger hunt. Campers from the winning red team of Wednesday’s Camp Olympics selected five counselors to “pie.” The lucky counselors were anticipating one strike but each received a second unexpected plate of whipped cream to the face. Mellen’s parents are Matt and Kacie Martin.

About 62 campers attended the annual week-long overnight camp, with hometowns spanning across Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana and Texas.

The group was intent on mastering the form that instructor Jonathan Best was teaching. Sanchez and Honsinger were dressed for swimming but had to attend karate before heading out to the pool. The campers’ parents are Sofia and Juan Sanchez, Jon and Roxanne Parnell, Felicia and Sean McCarty and Adam and Katie Jo Hosinger.

Counselors Will Pate of Mooreville and Jamie Hutchinson of Starkville were “pied” by campers on Thursday after their scavenger hunt. Five counselors were selected by the winners of Wednesday’s Camp Olympics to be “pied” with plates of whipped cream.

Campers also tossed frisbees, threw footballs and lounged in the shade after their strenuous scavenger hunt. Ferris’ parents are Rick and Rebecca Kernan, and Luke’s parents are Dan and Lindsey Hammer.
