Police have made two arrests and issued two arrest warrants in connection with a Sunday shooting in East Columbus that sent a minor to the hospital, a press release from the Columbus Police Department said.
Marcus Hill, 18, of Columbus, and Thomas Richardson, 17, are both charged with three counts of aggravated assault. Hill is also charged with shooting into a vehicle.
The department also issued two arrest warrants for Dylen Lewis and Benji Vaghn, who are both wanted on two counts of aggravated assault with a weapon. CPD is pursuing leads to locate the two suspects, the press release said.
Police responded to the shooting at about 3:55 p.m. Sunday on Redwood Street, where they found shell casings but no victims. It was later confirmed that a Black male minor had been taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle to be treated for a gunshot wound. His condition has not been publicly released.
Hill and Richardson are being held in the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center. Hill’s bond is set at $750,000 while Richardson is being held without bond.
An inmate photo for Richardson, who is being charged as an adult, was not available by press time.
The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information related to the shooting is asked to contact CPD or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at (800) 530-7151.
