The second suspect connected to a deadly shooting in Columbus last month is now in custody.
Damorio Sanchez Price-Ewing, 19, of West Point, was arrested Thursday evening for accessory after the fact for the death of 18-year-old Xavier Dora. According to a Columbus Police Department press release, Price-Ewing was taken into custody in Monroe County.
Dora was shot at about 4:30 p.m. Dec. 19, 2019, in an abandoned house near the intersection of 17th Street and Fifth Avenue South in Columbus. He died later that night at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle while undergoing surgery, Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant said. Investigators previously said they believe at least five people were in the house engaging in some type of illegal activity when an argument broke out and Dora was shot.
Another victim in the same shooting, who investigators did not identify, suffered non life-threatening injuries.
The day after the shooting, investigators with CPD and West Point Police Department arrested another 18-year-old, Shaquavus Lashun White, for second-degree murder.
CPD last week issued two press releases seeking assistance in finding Price-Ewing and asking the suspect to turn himself in.
Price-Ewing is currently at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center. His bond has not been set.
