STARKVILLE — Mississippi State soccer head coach Nick Zimmerman has kept up his work on the recruiting trail this spring, announcing another squad addition on Tuesday with the signing of Venezuelan international forward Rebeka Vega-Peleka.

Vega-Peleka is the latest addition to a recruiting class that includes Peruvian midfielder Sofia Aguayo Mariño and Canadian goalkeeper Jenny Harrison, expanding the international representation on the team. Marino has represented Peru at the youth level while Harrison is an experienced veteran from the Universite de Sherbrooke, where she made the Canadian All-Rookie squad.
The addition of Vega-Peleka will boost MSU’s depth on the front line, adding a talented goalscorer to the ranks. She entered the transfer portal after two years at Southern Miss, where she scored seven goals for the Golden Eagles.
Born in Venezuela, Vega-Peleka represented the national team at both the FIFA U20 World Cup and the U20 Sudamericano Feminino in 2024, providing one goal and one assist in international play.
She had a prolific high school career, playing at the American School of Doha in Qatar and Ascension Episcopal in Lafayette, Louisiana. She set a single-season record as a junior in Lafayette, scoring 40 goals in her junior year and earning two district Most Valuable Player awards.
Zimmerman has been a key recruiter for MSU for several years and helped recruit Ilana Izquierdo and Ruthny Mathurin to the Bulldogs, both of whom play internationally for their respective countries of Colombia and Haiti.
