Mississippi State associate head coach Jake Jacoby was hired Monday as the new head coach at Ole Miss, Rebels athletic director Keith Carter announced.

The No. 12 seed Bulldogs are still alive in the NCAA Tournament and will face No. 4 seed Stanford in the quarterfinals on Friday in Waco, Texas. Jacoby confirmed to The Dispatch that he will remain with MSU through the end of the 2025 season.
“I would like to thank everyone in Starkville from (Bulldogs head coach) Matt Roberts to the administration to the community, and especially to the players who made my six years there extremely special and successful,” Jacoby said in an Ole Miss news release. “I have grown so much as a person and coach and cannot be more appreciative of the relationships I made there.”
Jacoby, who like Roberts is from Little Rock, Arkansas, had an outstanding playing career at Iowa from 2014-18. He finished his time there ranked fifth in program history in combined singles and doubles wins. That followed a dominant high school career that saw him win four Arkansas state championships.
After one season as an assistant coach at Charlotte in 2019, Jacoby was hired at MSU, where he has helped Roberts continue to build one of the most consistently successful programs in the country. The Bulldogs have reached at least the round of 16 four times in the last five years.
Jacoby was MSU’s lone full-time assistant coach until this season, when Roberts added Trevor Gotkowski to his staff. Gotkowski had previously been the associate head coach at The Citadel.
