Through Wednesday, Sept. 11, various Columbus city offices will join to implement “Clean Up Columbus,” a city cleaning campaign encouraging community members to sign up for different cleaning projects.
In the campaign that began Aug. 28, Columbus community members are encouraged to pick up a garbage bag and/or pair of gloves from Visit Columbus located at the Tennessee Williams Home and Welcome Center during hours of operation Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. By signing up for a cleaning project, volunteers are also entering to win a $100 gift card to a local restaurant of their choice.
“At our monthly Tourism Partners Meeting we discussed the need to ‘Clean Up Columbus’ and how it is doable if we all did our small part,” said Visit Columbus CEO Nancy Carpenter. “Please help by assisting with cleanup on the block on which you live or work. We can complete great things working together.”
The campaign is sponsored by Visit Columbus, the City of Columbus, Columbus Light & Water, Military Hardware, United Way of Lowndes County, The Dispatch and WCBI News.
For more information, come to the Visit Columbus office in the Tennessee Williams Home and Welcome Center, 300 Main St., or call 800-920-3533.
