The Mississippi State University Office of the President, Alumni Association, Foundation, Bulldog Club and Student Association will host "A Bulldog New Year's Eve" in downtown Jacksonville on Monday, Dec. 31.
MSU fans are invited to ring in the New Year dressed in maroon and white at the Jacksonville Landing. Located along the St. Johns River downtown, the Landing will be the official New Year's Eve headquarters for Bulldog fans. The venue has many restaurants and events planned for the entire family, including live music from 6 p.m. until 2 a.m., with a fireworks show on the river at midnight. A pep rally will also be held at this location at 1:30 p.m.
Fans under 21 will need to purchase a patch for $10 to gain entrance to Jacksonville Landing after 8 p.m. The patch will be sold during the pep rally and parade, but will not be available that evening. It can also be purchased at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront or the Sawgrass Marriott.
On Tuesday, Jan. 1, the MSU Bulldogs will take on the Northwestern Wildcats at noon at the 2013 TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl. Prior to kickoff, fans are encouraged to join the Gator Bowl Tailgate Party that will be held from 9 a.m. until noon in the Fan Zone at EverBank Field.
Another MSU pep rally will be held at this location at 10:50 a.m. The Gator Bowl is sponsoring this event, and fans will need to purchase the patch to enter. The tailgate will feature entertainment, food and drink vendors. Bulldog fans are asked to be at the Dawg Walk at 10 a.m., which will be outside the stadium, in close proximity to the tailgate party.
