BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Starkville High School indoor track and field took home a first-place finish at the Holiday Invitational hosted at the Metro Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala. on Saturday.
The girls 4×200 meter relay team of Jariyah Lowe, Emerald Owens, Jocelyn Randle and Taniya Turner won the event with a time of 1:50.05.
They were the lone participants or team from Starkville to earn a first-place finish at the event.
Turner also earned a third-place finish in the girls 60-meter dash with a time of 8.05 seconds. Randle finished close behind in fifth place, just two hundredths of a second away from Turner.
The best boys finish for the Jackets was Giles Jones, an eighth-place finish in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:46.00.
