GREENWOOD — It was a banner day at Greenwood Country Club on Monday as Starkville Academy took part in the Pillow Invitational.
The Volunteers finished first in the team competition, shooting 26-over as a team, or a 314 for the day. Sophomore Gibson Nickels paced the individual field on the boys side, shooting a personal-best 2-over or 74 on the day.
On the girls side, Avery Williamson notched herself a first place finish as well with an 8-over 80 in the event.
It’s a great way to head into spring break before Starkville Academy hosts its own tournament at Starkville Country Club on March 18.
