STARKVILLE — Mississippi State is down another receiver.
A source with knowledge of the situation told The Dispatch Thursday morning that redshirt freshman and former Noxubee County standout Kyziah Pruitt has entered the transfer portal. Pruitt, who struggled with injuries for much of his two-year tenure at MSU, did not appear in a game during his time in Starkville.
A former three-star recruit, the one-time Noxubee County star was rated the No. 23 player in Mississippi according to 247Sports. Despite playing a run-heavy scheme as a prep star, Pruitt notched 2,824 receiving yards and 29 touchdowns. He also added 592 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. During his senior season at Noxubee County he corralled 28 receptions for 362 yards and two touchdowns.
Since MSU’s season concluded with an Armed Forces Bowl victory over No. 24 Tulsa, the Bulldogs have seen six players enter the transfer portal — including tight end/wide receiver Dontea Jones, running back Lee Witherspoon and kicker Jace Christmann.
