STARKVILLE — Mississippi State women’s basketball has gotten a jump start to its 2025 recruiting class.
Rocio Jimenez, a 6-foot-7 center from Kissimmee, Florida, announced her commitment to head coach Sam Purcell and the Bulldogs over her social media pages Thursday afternoon.
Jimenez, originally from The Dominican Republic, also had offers from Auburn, Ole Miss and Louisville. She is currently unranked by ESPN.
Jimenez, from Central Pointe Christian Academy, became the second future commit that Purcell, MSU’s second-year head coach, has gotten this offseason.
Tahj Bloom, a four-star forward in the 2024 class, committed to the Bulldogs on June 13.
Purcell also signed three four-stars, guards Jasmine Brown and Mjarcle Sheppard and center Quanirah Cherry-Montague, to MSU’s 2023 class for this upcoming season.
The Bulldogs are coming off of their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2019, beating Illinois in the First Four and Creighton in the First Round, before falling to Notre Dame in the Round of 32.
