Because of rising numbers of COVID-19 cases in the state, Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves announced on Wednesday a limit on attendance at indoor K-12 extracurricular events, including sporting events.
Attendance will now be limited to the lesser of 250 ticketed spectators or four ticketed attendees per student participant. The previous cap was 25 percent capacity.
“All of these measures are important, and I hope that the people of Mississippi will make an honest effort to participate in slowing the spread of the virus,” Reeves said in a press release Wednesday.
