COFFEEVILLE — West Lowndes boys basketball defeated Coffeeville, 66-62, in a double-overtime thriller in the semifinals of the MHSAA Class 1A, Region 4 tournament on Thursday.
Elijah Johnson led the Panthers in the win with 23 points and 16 rebounds. Other standouts for West Lowndes included Cam Ellis with 11 points, Tyrone Scales with 10 points and five steals, Jaylon Sherrod with nine points and seven rebounds, and Jamarveion Seals, who had five points and 10 assists.
West Lowndes advances to the MHSAA Class 1A, Region 4 championship game, where the Panthers will play the winner of Houlka and Okolona at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

SALTILLO — Columbus girls basketball defeated Saltillo, 42-35, in the third-place game of the MHSAA Class 5A, District 1 tournament on Thursday night in Saltillo.
With the win, the Falcons have qualified for the MHSAA Class 5A tournament, which begins next week.
Oak Hill Academy 53, Central Holmes Christian 11
CLARKSDALE — Oak Hill Academy girls basketball defeated Central Holmes Christian, 53-11, in the first round of the MAIS Class 4A regional tournament Thursday at Lee Academy.
With the win, the Raiders will advance to play in the MAIS Class 4A tournament next week.
Oak Hill Academy will take on Rossville Christian Academy (Tenn.) in the semifinals at 5:15 p.m. Friday.
Columbus Christian Academy 75, Hebron Christian 51
MARKS — Columbus Christian Academy girls basketball defeated Hebron Christian, 75-51, in the MAIS Class 2A, District 1 tournament Thursday at Delta Academy.
The Rams led 49-25 at half and dominated the entire way through, maintaining a steady 20-point lead for a good portion of the game.
With the win, CCA has qualified for the MAIS Class 2A tournament. The Rams will face Delta Academy in the district tournament semifinals at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Coffeeville 35, West Lowndes 28
COFFEEVILLE — West Lowndes girls basketball fell to Coffeeville, 35-28, in the semifinals of the MHSAA Class 1A, Region 4 tournament Thursday in Coffeeville.
Despite the loss, the Panthers (10-17) will still qualify for the MHSAA Class 1A tournament next week.
West Lowndes will play for third place against Okolona or Vardaman at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

CLARKSDALE — Oak Hill Academy boys basketball fell to Greenville St. Joseph, 49-39, in the first round of the MAIS Class 4A regional tournament at Lee Academy on Thursday night.
As a result of the loss, the Raiders will miss the MAIS Class 4A tournament beginning next week.
