Starkville High School volleyball continued its winning ways against Heritage Academy, defeating the Patriots in straight sets Tuesday.
Set scores were 25-18, 25-20 and 25-20.
The Yellow Jackets (6-9) played tough and won a match in straight sets for the fifth time out of their six wins this season.
Starkville hosts New Hope in its next match at 6 p.m. Thursday. Heritage Academy next plays at the Tupelo Volleyball Tournament on Sept. 10.

PELAHATCHIE — Heritage Academy fell to East Rankin Academy on the road on Tuesday night, 2-1.
The Patriots (4-4) fell to East Rankin after defeating them on Aug. 18, 3-2.
Heritage Academy’s next match is against Magnolia Heights at home at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Pillow Academy 3, Starkville Academy 0
STARKVILLE — Starkville Academy was defeated by Pillow Academy at home on Tuesday evening, 3-0.
The Volunteers struggled out of the gates against a solid Mustangs squad that dominated much of the match.
Starkville Academy will play its next match on the road at East Rankin Academy at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Starkville Academy 17, Washington School 1 (three innings)
GREENVILLE — Starkville Academy went on the road and defeated the Washington School, 17-1, in three innings on Tuesday evening.
The Volunteers (7-4) scored 10 runs in the top of the third inning to seal the mercy rule victory as Calliope Koiva had a three-hit, seven-RBI day in the blowout victory.
Starkville Academy travels to play Kirk Academy for its next game at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Marshall Academy 5, Oak Hill Academy 0
WEST POINT — Oak Hill Academy was shut out at home by Marshall Academy, 5-0, on Tuesday evening.
The Raiders (6-4) couldn’t manufacture any runs against stout pitching from the Patriots, ending a two-game winning streak.
Oak Hill’s next game is at 5:30 p.m. Thursday against Heritage Academy in West Point.
